It is with great sadness that St. Jean's announces the passing of Sister Dominica Rocchio S.C., a cherished friend of our school community, on February 10.
Sister Dominica, a graduate of the SJB class of 1956, dedicated over 57 years to the field of education, inspiring generations of students through her unwavering commitment to faith, excellence, and service. Her remarkable career spanned teaching, Congregation leadership, and educational administration, with notable roles as the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools for the Archdiocese of New York, and later as Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of Newark. After retiring, she served on the St. Jean's Board of Directors for several years.
We are deeply grateful for the lasting impact Sister Dominica had on St. Jean's and on Catholic education as a whole. Her legacy of dedication, compassion, and faith will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
